How to create and edit links:

Whether you want to link to some external website or to a section, image, or document on your own site, you can achieve this easily with WebGears. Follow these instructions to create, edit, and remove links in your content.

Step 1. Opening the section for editing

Log in to WebGears and proceed to the section you want to edit.

Click on the gear icon to enter editing mode for that section. The pop-up window with all editing controls will appear.

Step 2. Select the text to which you want to attach a link

Select the text you want to turn into a link, or type it in and then select it. You can highlight words, sentences, paragraphs, or any other bit of text content on your website. Click the Insert/edit link icon on the toolbar.

This will trigger a dialog box, in which you can specify to where your link should point (URL), specify where in the browser the link should open (target), and enter the title and description of your link for accessibility and SEO purposes.

Once you are happy with the settings, click on the "Insert" button to link the highlighted text/element on your page.

Step 3. Removing links

To remove a link, select the text or other object containing a link, and click the icon "Unlink" on the toolbar. This will completely remove the link.

Step 4. Adding links to other elements

You can add links to elements other than text, including images, videos, lists, and so on. The steps are the same as with text. First you need to highlight the object to which you want to attach a link. Click the Insert/edit link icon on the toolbar. This will trigger a dialog box, in which you can specify to where your link should point (URL), specify where the link should open in the browser (target), and enter the title and description of your link for accessibility and SEO purposes.

Once you are happy with the settings, click on the "Insert" button to link the highlighted text/element on your page.

Step 5. Editing a link

To edit an existing link (whether it is linked text or any other linked object), you have to first select the link and then click the "Insert/edit link" icon on the toolbar. This will open the same dialog box as when creating a link, allowing you to change the existing settings for this link.

Step 6. Save and publish

Once you are happy with your content, click the save icon on the toolbar to save and publish it instantly.
